How does your senior management perceive your intranet?

A rather disturbing survey coming out states that
13% of the surveyed senior management do not consider their intranet “business critical.”

I think The Day Job’s senior management recognizes the importance of our intranet and I think it bears out another finding, that the management sees a focus on communication over integrated applications as the main obstacle preventing their intranet from achieving its potential.

Over the last two years, my cohort and I have built many integrated applications that are now essential to the work and productivity of various departments. We started by revamping our employee and project tracking applications to tie to our ERP and HRMS systems and all other integrated applications have flowed from there.

Integrating (and not duplicating) data is the key. Talk to your coworks and build them things that will help them do their job better.
