iPod microphone rant follow-up

A 5g dock microphone has finally made its way to market.

While visiting the Apple Store in Kansas City, I saw the new MicroMemo for the Fifth Generation iPod. I resisted the urge to puchase on sight, but after reading the iPod Observer review that confirmed that the little microphone detaches so you can use a better one, I’m sold.

It’s too bad that I didn’t have this for my trip to Scotland, but it’s exciting to think that I could use it to record podcasts.

It looks like the Belkin TuneTalk is still on its way. I’ll be anxious to see how it compares, give that it’s later to market, more expensive, and frankly looks a little more flimsy than the MicroMemo.
